On New Year’s Eve 2021, we were visiting family in New Smyrna Beach when we wandered down a quiet street just steps from the ocean. That’s when we spotted it — a tiny, tired, two-bedroom, one-bath cottage with a “For Sale” sign out front. It was weathered, worn, and in serious need of love… but we saw something different.

We saw potential. We saw possibility. And most of all, we saw a beach dream waiting to be brought back to life.

Before we knew it, we had bought the house — and the transformation began immediately. Every stud is new, every space was reimagined, and we poured our hearts into turning that broken-down cottage into the bright, welcoming 3-bedroom, 2-bath home it is today.

 

But the magic of Perk’s Pelican isn’t just in the renovation — it’s in the people who helped make it what it is. Many of the furnishings and wall décor came from friends, family, and loved ones who contributed pieces with their own meaning and memories. Every room carries a little bit of that shared joy, making this house feel truly personal, warm, and alive.

 

Perk’s Pelican is more than just a rental to us — it’s a place built with love, laughter, and community. And now, we’re thrilled to share it with you.
